Do you have any info on a Hermes/Jesus correlation?

There are definitely connections between Hermes and Jesus, the most obvious being they are both messengers of God, and both are referred to as ‘Shepard’ and the ‘Lamb of God’.

But there are also connections between Jesus and Dionysus and Apollo. Because the parables found in the Bible are derived from other religious text.

In not-my-words, the Bible is a ‘transvaluation of ancient Greco-Roman mythology into [Hebrew] monotheism’.

Anyhow, The Hermetic Christ by Rebecca Diggs has a wealth of information on the comparisons between Hermes and Jesus. It’s a good read.

is Hermes Trismegistus, Hermes?

Some believe They are separate, which is perfectly fine. I’m of the opinion that They are the same, but I’ve done a lot more digging than most people are willing to.

Here is a blog post that was submitted to me a while ago that is the most cohesive explanation of Hermes Trismegistus that I’ve come across.

In addition to the information there, I’ve found connections between Hermes/Mercury and the ‘fallen angels’ mentioned in the Bible and the Book of Enoch, specifically Archangel Raphael.

“Meet Me In The Woods” and “The Birds Are Singing At Night” by Lord Huron both remind me of Hermes, the first because it’s reflective of his duties as god of travelers and magic, the second because it’s reflective of his duties as a psychopomp. Also “Land Down Under” by Men at Work and “Africa” by Toto. I get the feeing he likes those a lot. What songs remind you of Hermes? What songs do you think he likes? What type of music does he prefer?

Those are great Hermes songs! I added it to the playlist of songs that have been sent to me by Hermes followers over time. A lot of the songs on that list have the same vibe, I think you’d like it! There’s also more songs in the playlist tag.

Here’s an old post about the type of music I think Hermes likes, and nothing has really changed. I still feel that His taste in music is as multifaceted as He is.
