Hey this is the anon about the mom and aunt issue. I just got into a car accident earlier today because this a-hole ran into the back of us (hes at fault). It was my grampas truck originally and my father just inherited it and my father is feeling really bad about it. Who could I pray to, to make things easier for my father?

Oh no, I’m so glad you’re okay!

Well, of course I recommend Hermes because He’s really good for stuff like that! But you could also pray to Hephaestus for help with fixing the vehicle and Athena to help the insurance transactions go smoothly.

Good luck Anon, I hope it all works out in your favor!

It’s me, the different different anon. But my Eros revelation. I reflected on the beauty and complexity of sexual attraction. I realized that it not only is an act of lust, but it is a communication between two bodies toward a common goal. Sex is art. It made sense to me in that moment that the God of Communication and the Goddess of Love would create such a complex child. Eros is my favorite.

thepastelpriestess:

I’m going to be honest I know Eros has a lot of different origin stories but I never heard of him being the son of Aphrodite and Hermes. I’ve heard of him being the son of Aphrodite and Ares, him emerging out of the sea when Aphrodite did, and one where he is actually one of the first gods to exist. But regardless I like what you wrote!

mortisia:

Hermes

(Greek: Ἑρμῆς) is an Olympian god in Greek religion and mythology, son of Zeus and the Pleiad Maia. He is second youngest of the Olympian gods. Hermes is a god of transitions and boundaries. He is quick and cunning, and moved freely between the worlds of the mortal and divine, as emissary and messenger of the gods, intercessor between mortals and the divine, and conductor of souls into the afterlife. He is protector and patron of travelers, herdsmen, thieves, orators and wit, literature and poets, athletics and sports, invention and trade. In some myths he is a trickster, and outwits other gods for his own satisfaction or the sake of humankind. His attributes and symbols include the herma, the rooster and the tortoise, purse or pouch, winged sandals, winged cap, and his main symbol is the herald’s staff, the Greek kerykeion or Latin caduceus which consisted of two snakes wrapped around a winged staff. hermes-diaktoros:

“Ἑρμᾶς τᾶιδ᾽ ἕστακα παρ᾽ ὄρχατον ἠνεμόεντα ἐν τριόδοις πολιᾶς ἐγγύθεν ἀιόνος,
ἀνράσι κεκμηῶσιν ἔχων ἄμπαυσιν ὁδοῖο· ψυχρὸν δ᾽ ἀχραὲς κράνα ὑποπροχέει.

I, Hermes, stand here, beside the wind-stirred lane of trees in the crossroads close to the gray shore,
with rest for those weary from the road; and the spring wells up cold and pure.”
